Upcoming passementerie talk

Elizabeth Ashdown hand woven colourful passementerie art hand woven from silk and cotton

Crete, Galoon, fringe, fly and tassel… just some of the mysterious and evocative words involved in passementerie. Join me on Friday 23rd February at Kingston Stitchers to hear all about the fascinating and endangered world of handmade passementerie, tassels and trimmings of all kinds. I will be sharing my own approach to hand woven passementerie, as well as speaking more generally about the craft. I will be bringing plenty of fabulous examples with me, including some antique braids, fringes, tassels and more.

I look forward to seeing you there!

Talk location: Doors open at 7:15 for a 7:45pm start. The talk will be held at Kingston Stitchers, St Mark’s C of E Church Hall, Church Hill Road, Surbiton, Surrey, KT6 4UG. Please click here for further information.
